3rd biggest mosque in the world - Masjid Sheikh Zayed

"It is the third biggest mosque in the world after the Haramain," boasted the project's deputy head, Khawla al-Suleimani, after Islam's two holiest sites in Saudi Arabia -- Mecca's Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque in Medina. But unlike these two mosques, the one named after the United Arab Emirates' late founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahayan, is not off-limits to non-Muslims.

rasanya, dianggap besar sebab kawasan kelilingnya yg tersangat luas dan boleh digunakan utk solat (open air), but the actual covered area dlm masjid taklah besar sgt...

ablution area - ada tempat duduk, best...!! hehe...

walking towards the main prayer hall (on the right is the main prayer hall). tengok carper dia...! mahai tak mahai...!! makcik2 tentu suka sakannya carper camni... hehe

look at the ceiling, interesting how the have managed to create the purple light effect... rasanya, it is natural lighting (bukan lampu)

nasib baik depa akai ada... satu chandelier ja yg menyala... elakkan pembaziran...!!

architecture yang mengkagumkan...!! kat depan masjid tuh ada makam Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahyan, first President of UAE (mangkat in Nov 2004)
