The stupidity of some Malay Muslims

read this below article in Malaysia Today... a response to the article written by RPK entitled "The stupidity of some Malay Muslims"
like what dusunbukit has written... "it's well written. What can I say?"

written by dusunbukit, February 27, 2009 16:51:21

someone e-mailed this to me - it's well written. What can I say?

From the heart of a Muslim - Tawfik Hamid

I was born a Muslim and lived all my life as a follower of Islam. After the barbaric terrorist attacks done by the hands of my fellow Muslims everywhere on this globe, and after the too many violent acts by Islamists in many parts of the world, I feel responsible as a Muslim and as a human being, to speak out and tell the truth to protect the world and Muslims as well from a coming catastrophe and war of civilizations.

I have to admit that our current Islamic teaching creates violence and hatred toward Non-Muslims. We Muslims are the ones who need to change. Until now we have accepted polygamy, the beating of women by men, and killing those who convert from Islam to other religions.

We have never had a clear and strong stand against the concept of slavery or wars, to spread our religion and to subjugate others to Islam and force them to pay a humiliating tax called Jizia. We ask others to respect our religion while all the time we curse non-Muslims loudly (in Arabic) in our Friday prayers in the Mosques.

What message do we convey to our children when we call the Jews "Descendants of the pigs and monkeys"…. Is this a message of love and peace, or a message of hate?

I have been into churches and synagogues where they were praying for Muslims. While all the time we curse them, and teach our generations to call them infidels, and to hate them.

We immediately jump in a 'knee jerk reflex' to defend Prophet Mohammed when someone accuses him of being a pedophile while, at the same time, we are proud with the story in our Islamic books, that he married a young girl seven years old (Aisha) when he was above 50 years old.

I am sad to say that many, if not most of us, rejoiced in happiness after September 11th and after many other terror attacks.

Muslims denounce these attacks to look good in front of the media, but we condone the Islamic terrorists and sympathise with their cause. Till now our 'reputable' top religious authorities have never issued a Fatwa or religious statement to proclaim Bin Laden as an apostate, while an author, like Rushdie, was declared an apostate who should be killed according to Islamic Shariia law just for writing a book criticizing Islam.

Muslims demonstrated to get more religious rights as we did in France to stop the ban on the Hejab (Head Scarf), while we did not demonstrate with such passion and in such numbers against the terrorist murders.

It is our absolute silence against the terrorists that gives the energy to these terrorists to continue doing their evil acts. We Muslims need to stop blaming our problems on others or on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. As a matter of honesty, Israel is the only light of democracy, civilization, and human rights in the whole Middle East.

We kicked out the Jews with no compensation or mercy from most of the Arab countries to make them "Jews-Free countries" while Israel accepted more than a million Arabs to live there, have its nationality, and enjoy their rights as human beings. In Israel, women can not be beaten legally by men, and any person can change his/her belief system with no fear of being killed by the Islamic law of 'Apostasy,' while in our Islamic world people do not enjoy any of these rights. I agree that the 'Palestinians' suffer, but they suffer because of their corrupt leaders and not because of Israel.

It is not common to see Arabs who live in Israel leaving to live in the Arab world. On the other hand, we used to see thousands of Palestinians going to work with happiness in Israel, its 'enemy'. If Israel treats Arabs badly as some people claim, surely we would have seen the opposite happening.

We Muslims need to admit our problems and face them. Only then we can treat them and start a new era to live in harmony with human mankind. Our religious leaders have to show a clear and very strong stand against polygamy, pedophilia, slavery, killing those who convert from Islam to other religions, beating of women by men, and declaring wars on non-Muslims to spread Islam. Then, and only then, do we have the right to ask others to respect our religion. The time has come to stop our hypocrisy and say it openly: 'We Muslims have to Change'.

The Art o being married...

A newlywed couple had only been married for two weeks.

The husband, although very much in love, couldn't wait to go out on the town and party with his old buddies.

So, he said to his new wife, 'Honey, I'll be right back.'

'Where are you going, coochy cooh?' asked the wife.

'I'm going to the bar, pretty face. I'm going to have a beer.'

The wife said, 'You want a beer, my love?'. She opened the door to the refrigerator and showed him 25 different kinds of beer, brands from 12 different countries; Germany , Holland , Japan , India , etc.

The husband didn't know what to do, and the only thing that he could think of saying was, 'Yes, lolly pop ....... but at the bar, you know.......... they have frozen glasses'.

He didn't get to finish the sentence because the wife interrupted him by saying,
'You want a frozen glass, puppy face?' She took a huge beer mug out of the freezer, so frozen that she was getting chills just holding it.

The husband, looking a bit pale, said, 'Yes, tootsie roll........ but at the bar,
they have those hors d'oeuvres that are really delicious..............I won't be long, I'll be right back. I promise........ OK?'

You want hors d'oeuvres, poochi pooh?'. She opened the oven and took out 5 dishes of different hors d'oeuvres; chicken wings, pigs in blankets, mushroom caps, pork strips, etc.

'But my sweet honey............ at the bar, you know ......... there's swearing, dirty words and all that'.

'You want dirty words, Dickhead???? Drink your fucking beer in your goddamn frozen mug and eat your motherfucking snacks because you are MARRIED now, and you aren't going anywhere! Got it, Asshole?'..

......... and they lived happily ever after. Isn't that a sweet story?

kah kah kah...!!!

Release stress...:)

Suatu hari, Pak Mat berkunjung ke muzium negara, ketika itu berlangsung pameran pra sejarah. Antara yang dipamerkan ialah rangka dinosaur. Setelah berpusing-pusing, datanglah seorang penjaga muzium yang bernama Komeng yang sedang bertugas lalu bertanya,

Komeng: ada apa pakcik?
Pakcik: Pakcik nie nak bertanya... agak-agaknye la berapa umur dinasour nie?

Dengan penuh yakin Komeng menjawab

Komeng: Satu juta tahun, empat bulan, lima hari.
Pakcik: Terernya awak... macam mana awak boleh tahu sampai begitu sekali?
Komeng:
Waktu saya mula kerje kat sini, umur dinasour ni satu juta tahun, sekarang saya dah empat bulan lima hari kat sini.

Have we forgotten our manners...?

ini bukan sesi lepas geram, tapi sesi "revisiting our past..."

sometimes, I just wonder... sebab kita terlalu sibuk dgn kehidupan seharian, running here and there, rushing right and left.., we don't get to visit friends and relatives that often, and somehow, due to our "busyness" and "forgetfullness", we sometimes forget our manners when we go visit friends.... so, let's review our culture again, and review what are the DOs and DON'Ts when visiting friends... (according to Malaysian culture)

1. call in advance

this is not typically Malaysian, but out of courtesy, talipon la dulu sebelum pegi menjerkah kat depan pintu kengkawan tuh... this is the least that you can do. respect other people's privacy, close not close, kasik warning that you wanna drop by... tak ler kelam kabut geng tuh... just enough time so that the friends/relatives have time to siap2, and not long enough to avoid them from preparing lunch, tea and dinner to welcome you (kalau ada sedara mara yg camtu ler, which is very common in the kampungs...)

2. bawak buah tangan...

kalo dah lama tak jumpa, make an effort to bring some "buah tangan".... if you are from far away, bring something from where you come from... fruit is very common as buah tangan, or local delicacies/cookies... they don't cost much, and your host will appreciate it very much...

3. no visitors after 10pm

be considerate, people also wanna have some rest. no visiting after 10pm, and if you are alrdy there before 10pm, try to leave before 11pm...

4. avoiding lunch/dinner...

it is common that your host will either invite you for lunch/dinner, or have alrdy prepared lunch/dinner for your visit. it might be less true nowadays especially with "town people", but this will definitely happen if you visit friends and relatives in the kampungs... it might be a pain to some of us (eating and eating and eating....), but you can avoid it :
  • give notice to friends or relatives that you are coming, enough time for them to get organized (kemas2 rumah), but not enough to start cooking...
  • if you know that they have the habit of preparing food for your arrival, and you are close enough to them, tell them that you are visiting to see them, not to have lunch/dinner with them... tell nicely
  • avoid lunch/dinner time... visit after 10am, before 11h30am... then between 2pm and 6pm... then after 8pm till 10pm...
those are some of the tips that I have learned from my parents... My dad, being a teacher and still trying very much to preserve traditions, have been instrumental in me trying to do the same... sometimes, some small gestures and efforts from our part, make us more "learned" and have some "class"...

let's emulate the Japanese... "Master of the future, and Guardian of the past..."

I love my country, I love my culture...

Watch out for this space...!!

am officially on a mission... to get healthier, fitter...!! started this week... more exercise, better control for food intake, lesser junk food...!! timeline - 3 months...

watch out...!! a new man is in the making....!! hahaha...

(sajer jer buat public declaration, supaya semua org tahu, and I will not have any excuses to abandon the mission...!! takut kena perli beb...!! haha...)

Eh eh... got bonus one huh...?

had my annual performance review yesterday....

huaaa...!! so good one huh...? 5 months in the company in 2008, no sales came in (started coming in only in 2009), but still got bonus one huh...? huaaa... this company is GOOOODDDDDDD...!! was not expecting it... hehe..

tak ler banyak, but still got la some money utk belanja lebey sket bulan depan... (err... or, simpan lebey sket...? or... bayar hutang lebey sket...? haha...)

one thing which is soothing... bosses are happy with my work, just need to continue doing what I am supposed to do, insyaAllah, God willing, big big sales will come in...!!

syukur, syukur, thank you, thank you, alhamdulillah (the more you stay thank you, the more your wishes will be granted.... petua tuh...!! :))

btw, in an unrelated event, treated fellow colleagues ystdy for lunch, "thankgiving" sempena the first 2 POs received... ewah, ewah, ewah bebudak opis nih... they wished me get more & more POs after this, sebab depa kata, everytime I get POs, I will have to treat them for lunch.... eh, pandai la korang...!! banyak kerja aku nak belanja depa sentiasa...?!! kang geng geng kat Mesia sure jeles abih nyer...! :)

"Sultans of Swing" - we are...!!

*Sultans Of Swing*

You get a shiver in the dark
It's raining in the park but meantime
South of the river you stop and you hold everything
A band is blowing Dixie double four time
You feel alright when you hear that music ring

You step inside but you don't see too many faces
Coming in out of the rain to hear the jazz go down
Too much competition too many other places
But not too many horns can make that sound
Way on downsouth way on downsouth London town

You check out Guitar George he knows all the chords
Mind he's strictly rhythm he doesn't want to make it cry or sing
And an old guitar is all he can afford
When he gets up under the lights to play his thing

And Harry doesn't mind if he doesn't make the scene
He's got a daytime job he's doing alright
He can play honky tonk just like anything
Saving it up for Friday night
With the Sultans with the Sultan of Swing

And a crowd of young boys they're fooling around in the corner
Drunk and dressed in their best brown baggies and their platform soles
They don't give a damn about any trumpet playing band
It ain't what they call rock and roll
And the Sultans played Creole

And then the man he steps right up to the microphone
And says at last just as the time bell rings
'Thank you good night now it's time to go home'
And he make it fast with one more thing
'We are the Sultans of Swing'

UK Immigration Officer: Purpose of visit?
Visitor: I'm here to study law, sir.
Officer: You know, you must have a lot of lawyers in Singapore .
Visitor: Why do you say that?
Officer: Well, I've been here for a good twenty years, and I'd say 80% of Singaporeans I see here say they're here to read law.
Visitor: Oh, really? That's something I never knew. Hard to believe in fact.
Officer: Just you watch, then. You just stand here until the next Singaporean comes along, and I'll bet he's here to read law.

Visitor waits for 5 minutes, Ah Chong from Singapore comes to immigration counter.

Officer: Mr. Ah Chong, purpose of visit?
