adakah masa depan di Kuwait...? hmmm....

so camna....? interview pagi tadi went well.... it was actually good. however, have to go through 2 more interviews in Kuwait (internal procedures for recruitment - 3 managers will have to interview the candidate).... tak tahu ler aku camna nak buat nih... masa dah suntuk, have to give feedback to the other company if I am accepting the offer or not.... hmmm....

kalau dah terima offer yg ada nih, later susah la nak terima offer dari bank kat Kuwait tu lak... if I do that, I will have a bad reputation... (well, what goes around, comes around,... and the smart card industry is small...).... will know at the end of this week when the fllw up interview will take place... we'll see from there... btw, it is not confirmed yet that I will get the job in the Kuwaiti Bank, it is just that the interview this morning went well....

btw, the interviewer warned me.... hehehe... Kuwait is not Dubai... so be prepared... life can be quite boring there.... hahaha.... aiyooo.... kalau ke sana nanti, kerja, kerja, kerja jer lah dibuatnyer.... nak buat apa lagi.... (oh ya, may be bersukan la kut...)

The Kuwait Towers are three towers of reinforced concrete in Kuwait City. The main tower is 187 metres high and serves as a restaurant and water tower/reservoir. It also has a Viewing Sphere which rises to 123 meters above sea level and completes a full round turn every 30 minutes. The second tower is 145.8 metres high and serves as a water tower/reservoir. The third tower houses equipment to control the flow of electricity and illuminates the two bigger towers.

Letter to Bill Gates

from Banta Singh of Punjab to Mr. Bill Gates of Microsoft

Subject: Problems with my new computer

Dear Mr. Bill Gates,

We have bought a computer for our home and we have found some problems, which I want to bring to your notice.

1. There is a button 'start' but there is no 'stop' button. We request you to check this.

2. We find there is 'Run' in the menu. One of my friends clicked 'run' he ran up to Amritsar ! So, we request you to change that to 'sit', so that we can click that by sitting.

3. One doubt is whether any 're-scooter' is available in system? I find only 're-cycle', but I own a scooter at my home.

4. There is 'Find' button but it is not working properly. My wife lost the door key and we tried a lot trace the key with this ' find' button, but was unable to trace. Please rectify this problem.

5. My child learnt 'Microsoft word' now he wants to learn 'Microsoft sentence', so when you will provide that?

6. I bought computer, CPU, mouse and keyboard, but there is only one icon which shows 'MY Computer': when you will provide the remaining items?

7. It is surprising that windows says 'MY Pictures' but there is not even a single photo of mine. So when will you keep my photo in that.

8. There is 'MICROSOFT OFFICE' what about 'MICROSOFT HOME' since I use the PC at home only.

9. You provided 'My Recent Documents'. When you will provide 'My Past Documents'?

10. You provide 'My Network Places'. For God sake please do not provide 'My Secret Places'. I do not want to let my wife know where I go after my office hours.

Regards,

Banta

Ada hantu kat Dubai....??

true story, experienced by fellow Malaysians in Dubai... took the below extract from : http://dperantauan.typepad.com/dperantauan/2008/06/ada-hantu-bang.html#more

"Apa hal?", aku bertanya.

"Ada kawan-kawan ni ha...dia orang nampak benda yang patut tak nampak", tambahnya.

"Apa dia bendanya", aku nak dapat kepastian. Dia tak mahu bercerita dengan detail. Sekadar sebut benda yang patutnya tak nampak.

Katanya 3 orang yang nampak dalam rumah mereka. Masing-masing masih terperanjat. Ada yang lemah semangat, masih merah matanya.

"Apa yang kamu dah buat?", aku bertanya.

"Kami dah baca Yaasin, tapi kawan sorang tu masih cam tu je bang..".

"OKlah, saya nak Isya' dulu.

Better baca sendiri, kalau tak mampu pasangkan kaset.

Rupa-rupanya ada kedai d Dubai ni yang menjual bacaan d atas d samping beberapa ayat lain. Kaset ini d jual sebagai menghadapi sihir.

Kalau dah ada d jual sebegitu rupa, maknanya perkara begini lazim jugalah berlaku.

Terlepas peluang melihat Dr. Haron Din hadapi masalah begini jika dia masih d UAE!

it seems that it is not the first time that such thing happens in the building where these 3 guys stay. the phenomenon also explains the reason why there are still a lot of vacant apartments in the building... apa2 sajalah Labu...!!

Case against Sheikh - II

US businessman: Videos show torture by UAE royal By MATT APUZZO

WASHINGTON (AP) — As a trusted adviser to a member of United Arab Emirates royal family, Texas businessman Bassam Nabulsi says he safeguarded the sheik's most important documents: financial records, investment documents, and videotapes showing the sheik torturing people with a cattle prod and a spiked plank.

When the business relationship began to deteriorate, Nabulsi says, he also was imprisoned for months and tortured by jailers trying to get the tapes back.

Now, the tapes could become evidence in a federal lawsuit against Sheik Issa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a son of the late UAE president and brother of Abu Dhabi's crown prince.

The lawsuit and the tapes could prove embarrassing to the UAE, a U.S. ally that promotes itself as a pro-Western nation catering to business travelers and tourists.

The tapes have not been made public but The Associated Press viewed 11 still frames from one of the videos. They showed a man who appeared to be Sheik Issa beating another man with lumber, firing an automatic weapon into the sand around him and forcing an apparent cattle prod into his anus. The victim also appeared to have been partly run over by a SUV and had salt poured on his wounds.

Lawyers said the video also showed the victim's genitals being lit on fire. They said the abuse began because the sheik felt he had been overcharged in a grain deal.

"Ultimately this video, or certainly large portions of it, will be played in court," said Anthony G. Buzbee, who represents Nabulsi in his lawsuit.

Neither the UAE Embassy nor a Washington public relations firm working with the UAE government had an immediate comment on the case or the videos.

Nabulsi is suing for millions he says he is owed for various business deals. He also charges Sheik Issa and other members of the royal family with false imprisonment and with torturing him. Buzbee says he has three other torture videos.

If he prevails, his lawyers said they would try to seize Issa's U.S. assets, which could include portions of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, which is the largest sovereign wealth fund in the world and has an estimated $875 billion in assets. Last year it invested $7.5 billion in Citigroup.

The lawsuit has been languishing in a Houston federal court for nearly two years as attorneys tried to serve Issa and others with court papers. Efforts to deliver the documents to the royal family through UAE lawyers have failed and a confirmation of mail delivery was returned unsigned, according to court records.

A federal judge gave Nabulsi's lawyers until the end of the month to try again and, if unsuccessful, explain why the case should not be dismissed. The lawyers filed an amended lawsuit Monday describing the videos in greater detail.

Nabulsi worked for years making arrangements for Arab investors and dignitaries who traveled to Houston seeking medical care. According to the lawsuit, Sheik Issa recruited him to work as his personal business manager.

"As the Sheikh's moods grew darker, he began a habit and custom of torturing his employees and anyone else with whom he disapproved, " the lawsuit claims. "As his degeneracy increased, Sheikh Issa began to have such torture sessions taped, so he could enjoy viewing them later."

The torture sessions became a wedge in the business and, when it became clear the relationship were falling apart, Sheik Issa allegedly had Nabulsi arrested on marijuana charges. He was ultimately acquitted of those charges but the lawsuit says Nabulsi was interrogated about the videotapes while being held for more than three months.

"He was told daily that his wife would be raped, his children would be killed, that he would be killed," Buzbee said.

His original lawsuit sought more than $1 billion but the amended lawsuit filed Monday does not seek a specific amount

UAE sheikh to face assault trial
Mr Orsi says he has been too ill to go to work since the alleged assault

A Swiss court is preparing to hear a case against a brother of the UAE president who is accused of assaulting an American citizen in a Geneva hotel. Silvano Orsi alleges Sheikh Falah al-Nahyan made homosexual advances to him in the bar of the hotel and severely beat him when rejected. The allegations date back to 2003. Mr Orsi said it has been a "five-year ordeal" to get the case to court. The sheikh denies assault and has said he is sure "justice would be done". Mr Orsi, 39, says he was drinking at Geneva's La Reserve hotel with a Saudi friend when the sheikh ordered a bottle of champagne to be sent over to their table. A few minutes later, Mr Orsi claims the sheikh came over and began molesting him, and when the advances were rejected the sheikh attacked him and whipped him with his belt. Mr Orsi says he sustained a herniated disc, nerve damage and post-traumatic stress disorder from the assault. In a pre-trial hearing in 2007, Mr Nahyan, 37, said there had been a short scuffle in the hotel bar after he was accused of being gay. The three-judge tribunal will begin hearing the case on Thursday and it can impose a sentence of up to two years in prison if the defendant is found guilty. Mr Nahyan is the son of the late Sheikh Zayed, who died in 2004 and was succeed by Mr Nahyan's older brother, Sheikh Khalifa.
Mr Orsi has said he wants to bring a civil case against Mr Nahyan in addition to the criminal case, because he says to have been too ill to work since the alleged assault.

ORANGE - If oran ge is your favorite fruit, it speaks of a person who has enduring patience and willpower. You like to do things slowly, but very thoroughly and are completely undaunted by hard work. You tend to be shy, but are reliable and trustworthy friend. You have an aesthetic bent of mind. You select your partner with care and you love with all your heart, and not in for just a fling. You avoid conflict at all costs.

APPLE - If apple is your favorite fruit, you are an extravagant, impulsive and outspoken person, often with a bit of a temper. You ooze with charm when you are with your partner. You have an enthusiasm for life, unmatched by most.

BANANA - You are a softy! Loving, gent le, warm and sympathetic by nature is the banana lover. You often lack in self-confidence and are quite timid by nature. People often take advantage of your sweet temper, and sheer vulnerability to a situation. You adore your partner in every which way, both for their mental and physical beauty! Because of the way you are, your relationship is always very much in harmony!

COCONUT - The coconut lover is a serious, very thoughtful and contemplative person. Though you enjoy socializing, you are particular about the company you keep. Your sense of humor is what attracts members of the opposite sex to you more than anything else. It is simply charming!

MANGO - A mango lover is a personality to reckoned with; quite often, you are a person who has quite fixed ideas, and influencing you is not an easy task. You tend to be an extremist with strong likes and dislikes, and at times even like to control a situation.. You enjoy getting involved in something that presents mental challenge.. Strong as you may be, you are like a kitten when you are with your partner. You accommodate the love of your life, and make up for all the strong will elsewhere!

CHERRY - If cherry is your favorite fruit, life isn't always as sweet for you. You often face ups and downs, particularly professionally, and find that you make small sums of $$$, instead of a lump sum. You have a fertile imagination and are often involved in creative pursuits. You are a very sincere and loyal partner, but find that expressing your feelings is not very easy. Your home is your haven, and you love nothing more than being surrounded by close family and your beloved partner.

Your partner must share your zeal and zing for life to enjoy all you have to offer!

PEACH - Like a peach, you enjoy the juice of life and all its lush ripeness! You are the friendly sort, and are quite frank and outspoken, which adds to your charm. You are quick to forgive and forget; and value your friendships highly. You have an independent and ambitious streak in you that make you a real go-getter. You are the ideal lover, fiery and passionate but sincere and faithful in love. You don't, however, like to display all that passion in public.

CUSTARD APPLE - You are a modest and conservative person who can be quite sensitive at times. You tend to be thoughtful and contemplative, and therefore are rarely rash in doing things. You are quite ambitious and are good at anything that requires much detailing or working with number s. You are quick at finding fault with others. While looking for a partner, you value a person's intellect far above their looks or good old passion. You are quite shy and not very comfortable demonstrating affection.

PEAR - If you put your mind to something you can do it successfully, but by and large you tend to be fickle and have trouble completing a task with the enthusiasm you started it with. You need to know the results of your efforts almost immediately. You enjoy mental stimulation and love to get into a good discussion! You tend to be a restless and high-strung person, and are easily excited.. Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect! It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections!

Husbands are husbands....

"Husbands are husbands".... hmmm, betoi la lagu tuh...?

A man was sitting reading his papers when his wife hit him round the head with a frying pan.

"What was that for?" the man asked.
The wife replied "That was for the piece of paper with the name Jenny on it that I found in your pants pocket".
The man then said "When I was at the races last week Jenny was the name of the horse I bet on"

The wife apologized and went on with the housework.
Three days later the man is watching TV when his wife bashes him on the head with an even bigger frying pan, knocking him unconscious.
Upon re-gaining consciousness the man asked why she had hit again.

Wife replied. "Your horse phoned"

Subsidy...

Received this one from a freind.... it's a nice read

The story about "subsidy". A man called Maha owns a farm which can produce 10 apples every day. He has 5 workers to operate the farm. Each of them eats 1 apple daily and it is enough to keep them operating the farm normally. The remaining 4 apples, the landlord sells them at RM10 each and he earns RM40. He uses the RM25 to improve the farm operation and facilities. He gives RM2.00 to each of his workers and he keeps the remaining. RM5.00 as profit.

Day by day, the farm is well developed and all of the 5 workers are happy with the money they can save. When Maha passed away and there is a new landlord, Abdul comes to continue the farm operation. He says to the workers:" We need to improve the farm quality and redefine our way of thinking. From now on all of you only need to pay RM1.00 for each apple you eat. It is very cheap as the price is RM10 each outside the farm." The workers have no choice but to pay RM1.00 for the apple they eat daily. Their earning decrease from RM2.00 to M1.00 per person. As usual, Abdul sells the 4 apples and he gets RM40. He uses RM25 for farm improvement and pays RM10 to his 5 workers. He gets RM5.00 as profit. On top of that, he gets another RM5.00 from the apples that he sells to his workers. In total, he gets RM10 as profit every day. Soon, the apple price increases to RM20 each. The new landlord gets a higher profit as he gets RM80 for the 4 apples he sells daily.

Then, he decides to give the farming improvement contract to one of his close friend, Samy. Samy says:"Apple cost naik, improvement cost also misti naik." So, the farm improvement cost increases from RM25 to RM50. In actual fact, the improvement only cost RM30. The remaining RM20, Abdul and Samy share evenly among themselves.
Let's calculate how much Abdul gets daily:
RM10 (from farm improvement cost)
RM20 (Net profit by selling 4 apples: [Gross profit, RM80] - [Improvement cost, RM50] - [Wages RM10] = RM20)
RM5 (from selling apples to his workers)
In total, Abdul gets RM35 daily compare to RM10 initially when he takes over the farm from Maha. His profit increases RM25 and the workers are still getting RM1.00
daily per person.

The greedy Abdul does not want to stop there. One day, he says to his fellow workers:" You see ah, the current market price for one apple is RM20 and you are only paying RM1. See how lucky you are! I have to SUBSIDY RM19.00 for each of the apple you buy and total I need to SUBSIDY RM95.00. This will greatly burden the farm and we might get bankrupt if we continue like this. In order to avoid bankruptcy, I need to increase the apple price that you buy from RM1.00 to RM1.50 and I will bear the remaining RM18.50 per apple as my subsidy to you all." So, greedy Abdul adds RM2.50 to his current profit and the number becomes RM37.50.

After you have read the story, I am sure you have already understood the meaning of "SUBSIDY" given by the government. The RM95 subsidy never existed in the first place and so was the RM52 billion fuel subsidy generously "given" by the government
Cutting fuel subsidy is actually just a reason to steal money from your pocket.

US embassy in UAE issues terror alert

This is the 2nd terror alert this week. The First one came from UK embassy 2 days ago.... hmmm, biar betul...!! apa2hal, will avoid the places where the Americans & the Brits frequent.. jgn nak carik nahas...!! apa2 sajalah Labu....!!

Dubai:
The US embassy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has warned its citizens in this Gulf nation of potential terrorist acts ahead of the American Independence Day celebrations July 4.

"The embassy (in Abu Dhabi) and consulate general (in Dubai) wish to advise Americans
that potential exists for terrorists to plan and carry out violent actions in the region, including the UAE, and for this reason Americans should maintain a high level of personal security awareness at all times, particularly in public places," a message posted on the embassy website Tuesday said.

The warning comes close on the heels of a similar alert sounded by the British embassy in Abu Dhabi.

The alert level was updated Saturday on the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office website from 'general' to 'high'.

"There is a high threat from terrorism. We believe terrorists may be planning to carry out attacks in the UAE," the British foreign office website posting stated.

"Attacks could be indiscriminate and could happen at any time, including in places frequented by expatriates and foreign travelers such as residential compounds, military, oil, transport and aviation interests. You should maintain a high level of
security awareness, particularly in public places," it added.

"We issue travel guidance for every country and it is constantly updated," the Arabian Business website had quoted British embassy spokesperson Simon Goldsmith as saying.

He added that threat levels tended to go up and down. "What we are not doing and I underline 'not' is advising people to change their travel plans," he stressed.

The UAE, a federation of seven emirates, is home to a large number of expatriates, a majority of them from the Indian subcontinent.

The country has the world's fifth largest reserves of oil and gas.

Sajer jer buat entry nih... nothing much to say...

Jason didn't die....!! no wonder....!!

I got this from Yasmin's blog... http://yasminthestoryteller.blogspot.com/
for those who watched "Sepet", then "Gubra", you might ask questions why there were scenes of "Jason" and "Orked" in "Gubra"...

read below, may be it'll answer some of your questions.... but then,... it raises further questions on the storyline of "Gubra"....

pandai2lah mentafsirkannya.... apa2 pun, Yasmin Ahmad is from Ipoh... Yes...!! Ipoh mali, tarak sombong punyer...!!! hehehe...

The original script ending of "Sepet".

mah and jason
54. Inside father’s car, on the way to the airport.

Mum urges Orked to open the envelope. Orked takes out from the envelope, a letter and a cassette. She slips the cassette into the player and turns it on. Home recording piano solo of ‘Belaian Jiwa’ comes on. Orked is visibly moved by the song. She proceeds to open the letter. The music carries through over the next scene.

55. Same time. Ext. The road. (as per letter)

We hear the music, and over it we hear Jason’s words in his letter to Orked. We see him putting on his helmet and getting on his bike. He begins his journey to Keong’s house. He smiles to himself and looks excited. He can’t wait to get there.

JASON:
My darling Orked. God is answering my prayers. Maggie has decided not to have the baby. She said she won’t destroy her future because of one stupid man. I guess that means me. Orked, I don’t want to talk about her anymore. I want to talk about us. I tried to write a poem in Mandarin about you. I wanted to make you understand how I feel.

As the letter continues, we see Jason make a turn through some back alleys. We see some men in two cars catch sight of him, signal to each other, and start tailing him.

JASON: (continues)
But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t. I tried for days. The more I wrote, the more empty my words sounded. At first I felt panic. I couldn’t sleep for many nights. But then, the panic would go away everytime I saw your face, or just heard your voice. I used to write poetry because to me, it was like writing letters to God; to tell someone I couldn’t see, how I felt inside. Then finally, God replied. With a poem more beautiful than anything I had ever written. He gave me you.

We see one car follow Jason into the alley. Realising he’s being followed, Jason speeds towards the end of the alley. The other call pulls up on that side. Jason brakes. We see him flung through the air as the men come out of their cars, whip out their guns and open fire at him.

JASON:
You are my poetry from God, Orked. Let me hear your voice. Please call me. I will be waiting. Just call me, Orked, so I can sleep peacefully again. Your sayang, Jason.

Jason is lying on the ground. His body is bullet-ridden and bloody, but he’s still alive. He is breathing heavily and mutters something unintelligeable under his breath. His eyes just stare at the sky. As we move in closer to his face, we see a tear streaming down the side of his temple.

Jimmy steps out of a car. His head is partly wrapped in bandage. He walks up to Jason with a gun in his hand and puts the nozzle on one of his eyes.

Cut to far end of the alley as some policemen step out of their car just in time to see, from a distance, Jimmy hover over Jason’s body and pull the trigger.

56. Same time. (Continue scene 54) Inside Orked’s father’s car.

Orked puts down the letter, puts her arms around her mother and cries her eyes out. Her mother looks to their father as if asking for his help.

Father is visibly moved by the sincerity of his daughter’s tears.

He speaks loudly so as to be heard above his daughter’s weeping.

ABAHr:
Look, I have a really bad feeling about all this. I don’t know how to put it in any other way, but I don’t like the idea of you going out with a boy involved with gangsters and who made a girl pregnant.

He pauses for a moment to take a deep breath and organise his thoughts. Orked stops sobbing and listens. He continues.

ABAH:
You are my only child, Ked. All I want is for you to be safe and happy. Because I don’t know if I’ll be around long enough to see you through. I know jodoh is in God’s hands, and that as a human being, ultimately I have no idea what’s good and what’s not for you. But... I really, really don’t think this one particular boy is the right one for you. I’m sorry.

Orked starts to sob quietly. Suddenly, mother looks at father as if she has just seen a ghost.

MAK:
What did you just say, sayang?

ABAH:
What? I’m sorry?

MAK:
No, no. Before that.

ABAH:
I don’t think...

MAK:
No. You said... I really, really don’t think this one particular boy...

MAK/ABAH (together):
...is the right one for you.

MAK:
Those were the EXACT words aruah Abah said to me, when I told him that I wanted to marry you, sayang.

Orked suddenly stops sobbing and mutters “Yin-fen” under her breath. Her mother turns around and speaks to Orked as calmly as she can, slowly and deliberately. She wipes the tears off her own face, then off Orked’s face, as she speaks.

MAK:
Listen to me. I have been speaking to Jason many times over the phone these last few days. Yam too. He told us not to tell you. He also said that he wasn’t sure if you loved him because you never really said so. He’s still waiting for your call. My advice would be that if you really love him, this will be your last chance to tell him in a long, long time.

Orked looks at her mother in a way that could melt any heart.

ORKED:
Mak. Please may I borrow your phone...

57. Alley where Jason was shot.

The gangsters have been handcuffed and are being ushered into Black Marias. Paramedics covers Jason’s body and carry it off on a stretcher. We see policemen talking to their walkie-talkies and we hear static and people taking from the other end.

Out of the blue, a mobile phone rings. A policeman picks up Jason’s blood-stained pouch lying on the ground, opens it, and takes out the phone. He answers it.

Cut to a far shot of the policeman talking to the phone.

58. Same time. Ext. Outside Keong’s house.

Keong is sitting in the hot sun, by the drain outside the family’s terrace house. He is waiting for Jason.

He looks across the street and sees the little Chinese boy and the little Malay girl from Scene 1 in a playground, sharing a swing.

Keong looks down at the cast on his arm. He sees Jason’s handwriting on it. Keong bends his arm a little to read it. It says:

“I'm sorry. (signed) Jason.”

59. Day. Int. Living room of jason’s shophouse.

Close-up of Jason’s poetry book. It is open. We hear Jason’s voice start reading from the page.

JASON:
Bless this little heart,
this white soul that has won the kiss of heaven.
He loves the light of the sun,
He loves the sight of his mother’s face.
He has not learnt to hate the dust, and love the gold.
Clasp him to your heart and bless him.
He has come into this land of 100 crossroads.
I know not how he chose you from the crowd,
came to your door, grasped your hand to ask his way.

We slowly pull away from the book as Jason’s voice continues to read. As we go further from the book, we see that there’s no Jason, just his voice.

JASON:
He followed you, laughing and talking, without a doubt
in his heart.
Keep his trust, lead him straight, and bless him.
Lay your hand on his head,
and pray that though the waves beneath him grow
threatening,
yet the breath from above him will fill his sails and
waft him to the haven of peace.

We pull further until we reach Jason’s mother lying on the sofa. She’s sleeping peacefully. We close in on her face as Jason’s voice completes the poem.

JASON:
Forget him not in your hurry,
let him come to your heart and bless him...
Goodnight, mah.

Cut to black. Roll credits.

Cinta itu buta....!!

Seorang lelaki buta memasuki sebuah retoran.

Isterinya, Yati terkejut.

Muahahahhahahah. ...!!! kan cinta itu buta...?

Lessons of Life.... The Pretty Lady

The Pretty Lady

Once upon a time a big monk and a little monk were traveling together. They came to the bank of a river and found the bridge was damaged. They had to wade across the river. There was a pretty lady who was stuck at the damaged bridge and couldn't cross the river.

The big monk offered to carry her across the river on his back. The lady accepted. The little monk was shocked by the move of the big monk. 'How can big brother carry a lady when we are supposed to avoid all intimacy with females?' thought the little monk. But he kept quiet. The big monk carried the lady across the river and the small monk followed unhappily.

When they crossed the river, the big monk let the lady down and they parted ways with her. All along the way for several miles, the little monk was very unhappy with
the act of the big monk. He was making up all kinds of acussations about big monk in his head. This got him madder and madder. But he still kept quiet. And the big monk had no inclination to explain his situation.

Finally, at a rest point many hours later, the little monk could not stand it any further, he burst out angrily at the big monk. 'How can you claim yourself a devout monk, when you seize the first opportunity to touch a female, especially when she is very pretty? All your teachings to me make you a big hypocrite The big monk looked surprised and said, 'I had put down the pretty lady at the river bank many hours ago, how come you are still carrying her along?'

Lesson : This very old Chinese Zen story reflects the thinking of many people today. We encounter many unpleasant things in our life, they irritate us and they make us angry. Sometimes, they cause us a lot of hurt, sometimes they cause us to be bitter or jealous ..

But like the little monk, we are not willing to let them go away.We keep on carrying the baggage of the 'pretty lady' with us. We let them keep on coming back to hurt us, make us angry, make us bitter and cause us a lot of agony. Why? Simply because we are not willing to put down or let go of the baggage of the 'pretty lady'. We should let go of the pretty lady immediately after crossing the river, that is after the unpleasant event is over. This will immediately remove all our agonies. There is no need to be further hurt by the unpleasant event after it is over.

Lessons of Life.... The Frog

The Frogs

A farmer came into town and asked the owner of a restaurant if he could use a million frog legs. The restaurant owner was shocked and asked the man where he could get so many frog legs! The farmer replied, 'There is a pond near my house that is full of frogs - millions of them. They all croak all night long and they are about to make me crazy!' So the restaurant owner and the farmer made an agreement that the farmer would deliver frogs to the restaurant, five hundred at a time for the next several weeks.

The first week, the farmer returned to the restaurant looking rather sheepish, with two scrawny little frogs. The restaurant owner said, 'Well... where are all the frogs?' The farmer said, 'I was mistaken. There were only these two frogs in the pond. But they sure were making a lot of noise!'

Lesson : Next time you hear somebody criticizing or making fun of you, remember, it's probably just a couple of noisy frogs. Also remember that problems always seem bigger in the dark. Have you ever laid in your bed at night worrying about things which seem almost overwhelming like a million frogs croaking? Chances are pretty good that when the morning comes, and you take a closer look, you'll wonder what all the fuss was about

Origin of mankind...

A little girl asked her mother: How did the human race appear? The mother answered: God made Adam and Eve and they had children and so was all mankind made.

Two days later she asks her father the same question. The father answered: Many years ago there were monkeys from which the human race was developed.

The confused girl returns to her mother and says: Mom', how is it possible that you told me that the human race was created by God and Papa says they were developed from monkeys.

The mother answers: Well dear, it is very simple. I told you about the origin of my side of the family while your father told you about his side. …

Lessons of life... The Turtles

The Turtles

A turtle family decided to go on a picnic. The turtles, being naturally slow about things, took seven years to prepare for their outing. Finally the turtle family left home looking for a suitable place. During the second year of their journey they found a place ideal for them at last!

completed the arrangements. Then they discovered they had forgotten the salt. A picnic without salt would be a disaster, they all agreed. After a lengthy discussion, the youngest turtle was chosen to retrieve the salt from home. Although he was the fastest of the slow moving turtles, the little turtle whined, cried, and wobbled in his shell. He agreed to go on one condition: that no one would eat until he returned. The family consented and the little turtle left.

Three years passed and the little turtle had not returned. Five years...six years... then on the seventh year of his absence, the oldest turtle could no longer contain his hunger. He announced that he was going to eat and begun to unwrap a sandwich.

At that point the little turtle suddenly popped out from behind a tree shouting, 'See! I knew you wouldn't wait. Now I am not going to go get the salt.'

Lesson : Some of us waste our time waiting for people to live up to our expectations. We are so concerned about what others are doing that we don't do anything ourselves.

Indonesian joke - Doctor & patient scandal

didedikasikan khusus utk fellow Doctor bloggers... hehehe...

kah kah kah...!! macam-macam...!!

3 wishes...

One day, a girl, heard from her mother that if she will do a regular prayer for 4 yrs, a divine "Godess" will come to her dreams & give her 3 boons(Varadaan) . So she decided to do it. She completed 4 yrs successfully, doing prayer regularly.

Now it was a day for "Goddess" to come. So she slept earlier with thoughts in her mind to ask. And, really a "Goddess" comes in her dreams.

Now this is the dialogue between them:

GODDESS: O Girl, you prayed to me regularly within last 4 yrs, so I am very very happy with you. I will complete any of your 3 wishes. You can ask anything you like, but there is one condition.

GIRL: Condition!, what is that?

GODDESS: You have a boy-friend?

GIRL : Yes.

GODDESS: When you were doing a prayer, he was waiting for you, so he also sacrificed same as you. Moreover, he didn't know anything about boon and all, so he is also eligible for the boons. So whatever you will ask, he will get 10 times more than that of you. If you are agreed, then proceed for the 1st boon.

GIRL: (After thinking for some time ... ):Yes, I am ready.

GIRL: 1st, Make me 10 times richer than the richest person in the world.

GODDESS : But your boy-friend will be 10 times richer than you.

GIRL: It's OK.

GODDESS: Be as you wish!

GIRL: 2nd, Make me 10 times more beautiful than the most beautiful girl in the world.

GODDESS: But your boy-friend will be 10 times handsome than the most handsome boy in the world.

GIRL: It's OK.

GODDESS: Be as you wish.

GODDESS: Now the last boon remains.

GIRL: O Godess, please give me a MILD HEART-ATTACK.

GODDESS: What? Are you sure!

GIRL : Yes. Very sure!

GODDESS: Be as you wish.

Think friends, what happened to her boy-friend, he got a severe heart-attack & died at once, while the girl remained alive. Thus, the girl became the world's most beautiful girl and the richest one, too.

MORAL OF THE STORY: So intelligent the girls are! Girls are really more intelligent than we believe about them to be. So be careful boys!

Now, girls please stop reading ... boys continue till the end of the mail...

Dear boys, dont worry, actually what happened is something different than what you all think! Actually, the girl's boy-friend got a heart-attack, 10 TIMES MILDER than that of the girl. So the
boy-friend lived longer than the girl, being world's richest and the most handsome boy. Moral of the story: Dear boys, the girls are not really that much intelligent than what we believe them to be.

Si suami kembali menyambung menikmati makanannya sementara isterinya memandang sambil tersenyum sehinggalah sup ekornya sendiri menjadi sejuk. Selepas beberapa lama, pekerja tadi datang semula kemeja pasangan berkenaan kerana gelisah melihat gelagat mereka berdua.

Belief in Prayers...

In a small town in Kerala, India, a person decided to open up his Bar business, which was right opposite to the Temple. The Temple & its congregation started a campaign to block the Bar from opening with petitions and prayed daily against his business.

Work progressed. However, when it was almost complete and was about to open a few days later, a strong lightning struck the Bar and it was burnt to the ground.

The temple folks were rather smug in their outlook after that, till the Bar owner sued the Temple authorities on the grounds that the Temple through its congregation & prayers was ultimately responsible for the demise of his bar shop, either through direct or indirect actions or means.

In its reply to the court, the temple vehemently denied all responsibility or any connection that their prayers were reasons to the bar shop's demise. As the case made its way into court, the judge looked over the paperwork at the hearing and commented:

"I don't know how I'm going to decide this case, but it appears from the paperwork, we have a bar owner who believes in the power of prayer and we have an entire temple and its devotees that doesn't."

kah kah kah...!! camna nih? camna nak decide...? kecian Tuan Hakim tuh, poneng kopalo...!!
