Mothers will always be mothers…

(based on a true story)

Have a friend – his name is AK (bukan Air Asia laa, hehe…). After years of soul searching, reading tonnes of books, meeting thousands of people, he reverted/converted to Islam… being of Malaysian Chinese background, he had to be extra careful in dealing with his family with regards to his new status…

There were some objections and rejections initially, but as time goes by, everything went back to, more or less, normal situation…

The mother has somehow made a pact with him that in whatever scenario, the grandmom should not know of his new status…. The mother just wouldn’t be able to handle the grand mother’s nagging if she gets to know of the situation… first, it would be seen as the “mother’s failure” in raising her kids, secondly, the constant nagging that the mother would get from the grandmother would just spoil the wonderful relationship that both of them have been enjoying… why rock the boat towards the end of the journey…?

So, imagine the scenario : Reunion dinner, CNY at the grandmother’s house… all sorts of food being served including “char siew”… Grandmother is there, and she would surely ask why AK is not eating the “char siew” that she has served… How to handle the situation…?

AK was told by the mother to sit next to him during dinner… so they go on having the family talk, getting updates on each other on what has been happening in their lives, what they have been up to, work, news, politics, gossips, relatives… the usual family reunion dinner topics of discussion… at the same time, the char siew remains on AK’s plate….

and as the chit chatting continues…, whenever there is a slip of attention by the grandmother, the mother will immediately take the char siew from AK’s plate and gobble it up quickly without the grandmother realising what has actually happened…

cunning huh…? Hahaha…. Well, mothers will always be mothers…. Always looking after and protecting their kids, no matter how big/smallg they are….

Well, to cut the long story short… AK strongly believes that the grandmother actually knows of his situation already… when she was sick… the grandmother said to him one time… “lu Tanya la sama lu punya Tuhan, kasi gua baik….!!” ... hahaha... don’t undermine mother’s & grandmother’s instinct... “don’t prey prey haa...”

Lastly... AK’s mother also asked him on a few occasions..., “lu sudah sembahyang kaa…? Eh, ini masuk Islam… jangan/bukan main-main haaa….!!”. to read – if you want to do anything, do it whole heartedly, and not just for fun/the spur of the moment…

Well… my wish to AK, just remember…
“syurga dibawah tapak kaki Ibu…”

have a wonderful day ahead guys....!!

Banyak moral of the story dalam citer Kingkong kali nih.

1. Mother will always worry about their children.
2. Be good to our mum.
3. Grandma is mum's mum, so be good to her too.
4. The older you are, the wiser you become.
5. Don't lie to grandma, she knows.
6. Kingkong always tells interesting story, but don't make him mengamuk, he'll pound his chest like the real kingkong. oopps....

Hahahahahaha, tuler pasal! Lagi satu that always amazes me - whenever he stops at a masjid to solat, someone will kejar him into the mosque and say "sini, you tak boleh masuk. Sini, prayer hall for Muslims sahaja". Then he has to explain "saya nak ambik wudu untuk solat". Lepas tu, basu diorang sedar. One one accassion, after he said that, the guy then turned to Ant and went "Encik pun nak turun solat?" Tergolek-golek mamat tu gelak! Sigh ...

Hai, tapi memang la, I swear I nearly died laughing when my dad said, "Your friend tadi nak mintak tumpang sembahyang, ingatkan dia nak colok ker, nak apa ke" Hahahahahahahahaha
